Phew! Another set of Pathway to Chartership (P2C) Seminars completed. Five evening sessions of 2+ hours each, covering the entire P2C syllabus in a relaxed, informal way, gave all candidates the chance to practice speaking and being questioned. Although the sessions are affordable, they generate useful funds for the Landscape Institute Yorkshire and Humber Branch and help to fund LIYHB events.

There were great responses to assigned questions, so that everyone (including the fully-qualified mentors!) came away with a much better understanding of the Pathway topics. These define what it is to be a professional landscape architect, working to a Code of Practice. Topics include: Professional judgment, ethics and values; Organisation and management; Assessment and analysis (e.g. LVIA); and Implementation of work on site.
Great CPD for the mentors (thanks all!) and great training for the candidates. Here are some of their comments:
"Thank you again so much, these sessions have been invaluable."
"I also wanted to take a moment to thank you for these sessions—they’ve been incredibly helpful in preparing for the exam."
"Thank you for hosting these sessions, I have found them incredibly useful."
We are planning to repeat the sessions in the autumn, in advance of the next Examination dates. Good luck to everyone who has contributed so well over the last month - we look forward to hearing how you get on!
