This year we have been backing the Landscape Institute's #chooselandscape campaign. Choose Landscape aims to encourage young people to start in, and older people to convert to, the landscape profession. Using the key phrases 'Connect people, Transform places, Protect nature' - who wouldn't want to be part of our great profession?

Coo, what is a SuDS retrofit exemplar? Well, SuDS = Sustainable Drainage Systems and retrofit means it wasn't originally designed this way, but now it is! Exemplar? - you would be hard-pushed to do more or better!
Slow the Flow - Opportunities Mapping

Slow the Flow, of which Amanda is a founder member, just keeps going from strength to strength. In one of her final projects before going off on maternity leave, Amanda teamed up with Stuart Bradshaw of Terrain Geotechnical Consultants for a Slow the Flow project. Together, they evaluated and mapped the Natural Flood Management and Sustainable Drainage opportunities around Mytholmroyd in the Calder valley.

Our evidence was vital in securing an appeal success for a small housing site at Tetford in the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB, whilst in East Yorkshire we put the argument against a major housing scheme outside the development boundary, which was subsequently refused. Any contradiction here? We don't think so...
